Lead Software Engineer (Autonomy)

  • Spearheaded the development of 3D Lidar SLAM and 3D localization as a Product Owner/Developer.
  • Engineered an in-house, drift-free 3D Lidar SLAM system tailored for large-scale environments.
  • Currently engaged in groundbreaking research on Visual SLAM and hardware acceleration technologies.

  • Improved autonomous navigation of Turtlebot2 with fused laser scans from RGBD camera and a 2D Lidar on Texas Instruments JacintoTM J7 automotive processor platform.
  • Implemented ROS wrapper for OpenVX based computer vision algorithms.
  • Developed object classification, object detection, semantic segmentation neural networks using Transfer Learning targeted for ARM & x86 devices.

  • Gained hands-on experience with real-world deployment of Visual Inertial Odometry (VIO) and SLAM algorithms such as DSO, ORB-SLAM, ROVIO, VINS-Mono, RVIO, and MSCKF-VIO and benchmarked their performances on Nvidia Jetson TX2.
  • Built custom Micro Aerial Vehicle with Stereo Camera, Nvidia Jetson TX2 and Pixhawk under ROS platform and improved the localization of the vehicle in a GPS denied environment by refining the existing visual SLAM as well as fusing PixHawk IMU.
  • Implemented VIO algorithms with Double Input Type-I and Type- II fuzzy logic controllers and simulated their performances under various flight speeds in Gazebo.
